2016.09.09

Smartphones, tablets and feature phones for developing countries have also been unveiled

Amsterdam, The Netherlands, 8 September 2016 – Shenzhen Skyworth Digital Technology Co. LTD. (000810.SZ), a leading set-top box (STB) and mobile device provider, will unveil the worlds first ever 4G-enabled e-reader tomorrow as IBC 2016 gets underway.

Three different models are available in the line-up, with each one featuring high-contrast black and white screens. The flagship device also supports 4G and Wi-Fi for downloads. Each model measures 6” and can hold between 4GB and 8GB of data.

The e-readers are just one part of the new range of products debuted by Skyworth Digital at IBC 2016. The company has also launched new smartphones in different sizes – 3.5”, 4”, 5” and 5.5” – while the 4G-enabled feature phone completes the line-up and ensures that Skyworth is catering for all markets.

“We are incredibly proud to bring the first-ever 4G-enabled e-reader to the market, especially at such a prestigious event as IBC,” said Darrell Haber, Vice General Manager at Skyworth Digital. “Meanwhile, our feature phone looks to address the trend of operators trying to upgrade current feature phone users from their 2G/3G networks onto 4G. Of course, many users prefer to keep their keyboard feature phones so our new 4G-enabled device is designed to meet both operator and consumer requirements. All of the products available in the new range will be sold directly to consumers or in bundles with our STBs.”

Skyworth Digital’s new smartphones feature Hi-Fi audio and enhanced speakers, as well as a video projector function on the highest-end model. The two new tablets – available in 7” or 8” – support 4G, as well as Wi-Fi, and are equipped with high-quality cameras. The 8” model also features Hi-Fi audio and enhanced speakers.

Delegates attending IBC 2016 can view all of Skyworth Digital’s new products at the company’s booth – Stand 5.B61.
